Theresa (Teri) L. Sosalla
Theresa L. Sosalla was born
in Sac City, Iowa. She is a graduate of Coe College, Cedar Rapids,
Iowa where she earned a Business Administration with an emphasis in
finance with honors. Theresa earned her Juris Doctorate with
distinction for the University Of Iowa College Of Law in 1993.
After graduation, she became
licensed to practice law in Iowa and Illinois and began private
practice with a Quad City law firm. She practiced primarily in
business law and transactions, estate administration and appeals.
She left private practice to work as a commercial loan officer and
then Vice President and Trust Officer for two local banks, one of
which was purchased and sold more than one time during her
relatively brief career in banking.
Teri returned to the private
practice of law in 2002 when she became associated with a Quad City
law firm practicing primarily in personal injury and professional
negligence litigation. In 2006, Teri had an opportunity to devote
her professional skills exclusively to public service as a Staff
Attorney for H.E.L.P. Legal Assistance in Davenport, Iowa. While at
HELP, Teri advised and represented low income Iowans and senior
citizens primarily in landlord/tenant and consumer matters. She
also participated in Iowa Legal Aid’s Foreclosure Defense Project
and assisted Scott and Clinton county homeowners in defending
foreclosure actions and summary judgment proceedings.
Having enjoyed a long
friendship and professional rapport with Jim Neppl, Teri joined The
Neppl Law Firm, Ltd. in 2010. She will engage in the general
practice of law including family law, personal injury, workers
compensation, appeals, and criminal defense. She will continue as a
volunteer attorney with the Legal Aid office.
Teri is married and lives in
LeClaire, Iowa with her husband, two sons and one border collie who
could pass as a third child. The whole family is active in fitness
sports including 5K races and triathlons. Teri’s next goal is to
complete a half-marathon. Her other interests include trivia
competitions, photography and prayer shawl ministries
